It’s time for some Magic…….
Am sitting in my house watching the rain pelting on the Windows…… Flooded with memories attached to it.Small,quaint,unbridled…..all so vivid.
Tube lights switched on in the day. Wet socks hanging to dry in the school window. Squishing sound of water filled gum boots. Ginger steps on moss covered paths,an occasional slip followed by laughs. Rolled up pAnts.Furniture draped with drying clothes. Upturned umbrellas. Rickshaws with flapping wings. Crumpled toes. Wet corners of school bags, and hope, that the notebooks are dry,or wet, depending on whether the home work is done. Blurred words, spread ink. Unexpected holidays or atleast surprise half days, and sleepovers,at which ever friend stayed closest to school. Paper boats. Wading in knee high water. Long drives.A swim in high tides. Occasional treats of tea and coffee. . Crackling phone lines. Lights tripping, lit candles.
Not much has changed, since then and now. Just some more added.
Lazing around. Reading,in pyjamas and hoodies. Tea,tea and more tea,and Ofcourse, bhajiyas(how can I miss that). Music,Cafe Del Mar. Movie marathons. Getting drenched with the boys. Glistening skin, frizzy hair. Leakage (yes!even now). Painting. Glass of wine at lunch. Rattling Windows, banging door, whispering winds, screaming gales, fluttering leaves. Complaining of pot holes . Using traffic as an excuse for delays. Ducking and covering my face, when the car in front splashes water, forgetting the wind shield momentarily. Names scribbled on condensed car windows. City covered in mist, peppered with blue tarpaulins. Long drives. Love songs. Over flowing lakes. Water shortage solved. Ebbing sucides. Happy farmers
I love the rains. It’s my favourite time of the year.
The sound,the feel,the fragrance of it…….
Everything,fresh,washed, vulnerable…
Pouring from the skies,is hope and romance.
It’s time to get drenched.
It’s time for magic.
Wat a lovely Nostalgic, romantic,… Melancholic piece. Made me smile with such fond…. fond memories

Heard you talk about the rains last night, pure nostalgia, especially the shoes making the pacchak pacchak noise. I would wear the rain coat only to protect the school bag. Come home and dry out the shoes socks uniform on the furniture, window railings…such beautiful memories. The smell of rain on mud…ah, pure bliss and so much of romance 💕💕
