A better day in a better world.

First and foremost I want to thank each and every single one of you for being so supportive and warm towards my situation. People I know of from years ago, people I know briefly and people i barely know have all reached out with suggestions, concern, help and warm wishes. ๐Ÿ˜ŠI can not begin to tell you how reassuring and cared for every single message has made me feel.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—Hence I owe it to all of you’ll,to let you’ll know that today was a not so bad day๐Ÿ˜Œ. In fact it was a good day.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I had a great class all morning with an incredible artist Francisc Ruiz. He is a comic artist who works on huge public platforms. It was rapid, informative interactive and very interesting. It was my first special tutorial outside the comfort zone of what I normally work on and yet it resonated familiarity with the style if not the subject. ๐Ÿ˜Š

In class 2 girls smiled, introduced themselves, asked about me, were warm and fun and had a sense of humour and appreciated mine and actually laughed along with me.๐Ÿ˜

After class,I came back to my hotel to drop off the heavy luggage(art material, more jackets, oh and a small snack of 2 theplas and tea sachets) I drag to school๐Ÿ™„, before I went scouting for apartments, and as luck would have it,I got into the same cab with the same driver who had driven me to school in the morning.๐Ÿ˜ So there was again this smile and recognition in a stranger. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

This guy I worked with on my last film,Pana,he’s Spanish and lives here. I’d connected with him before I came here and he’s extending all his help to find a place I can call home, suggesting stores I can pick my art materials from and advising on travel etc.๐Ÿ˜Š Another wonderful unexpected support which is such a welcome surprise. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Later I went and saw a cute house Pana found, and another one this other acquaintance suggested. (Was congested and claustrophobic so didn’t work for me.) But I so appreciate these people helping me.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Then I Came back to my hotel with terrible sinus, conjured up my own version of Irish coffee with the help of the bar tender,Victor. โ˜•๏ธHe was very receptive and enthusiastic ๐Ÿ˜ƒeven though he hadn’t made an Irish coffee before. It was sweet and good๐Ÿ˜. (I’m talking of the Irish coffee.)

And before I came up to my room had an inane conversation of “how was your day and hope it’s warmer tomorrow” with Mario the waiter.๐Ÿ˜Œ

This thing I’d heard of a small insignificant gestures of a stranger brightening up your day. That’s what my day was about.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

If nothing else this trip is going to make me appreciate the small gestures we so take for granted back home.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ

An unexpected smile, a kind word, a nod of acknowledgement, even a perfunctory hello and without purpose polite conversation from strangers, is an overwhelmingly welcome relief when we are alone, away from home and in a foreign land.

Little gestures, messages, smiles, words even looks are building up my confidence day by day and concreting my will to make this work.

Thank you for making me believe in affable compassion and amiable benevolence. It’s what makes this world a better place and my day a better day!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
