I love my kids! Yes I do!

But does that make me only a mom or can I wish,sometimes,to just be “me”?

The “only mommy position” is not imperative,belive me,it’s not what makes you a mom!

Being a mom is not just about getting everything right all the time…..It’s not just about…..

Keep ure shoes in the drawer,remove your dirty socks,wear clean clothes.

Clean your hands,brush your teeth,shampoo your hair,cut your nails.

Eat breakfast,eat healthy,eat fruit,eat eat eat!!!Don’t eat junk,don’t drink soda,don’t have sugar,Don’t!dont!dont!

Throw the garbage in the bin,throw the clothes in the laundry basket,don’t throw garbage on the road,don’t throw young humans,who squeal mommy,out of the balcony.dont throw any living creatures off the balcony.

Pick up the towel from the bed,pick up your clothes from the floor,pick up your brother from the floor,don’t pick your nose!!!!

And a voice from my childhood,replies back,to my mom …”when Wil you stop instructing?? When??”

I don’t think my kids will remember how ironed their nappies were,or how clean their ears were,nor how neat their room was,or how much thought went into creating a perfectly balanced meal of proteins,carbs and calcium!!!!

However…..What they will remember,is the time v played football in the rain,and collapsed,in a muddy flooded garden.

They will remember our midnight secret picnics,of quick fix sandwiches,and maggi.

They will remember,how v messed our clothes,our hair,and the floor was as we painted their room.

They will remember how v sang aloud in the car,even if out of rythm.

Of how we sat squashed in a tub together,as the water flowed out.

Or how we danced in the rain.slipped and fell,and laughed out aloud.

It’s our choice,what we wish them to remember us moms as!!!the perfect planner,cook,maid,laundry woman,dietician?

Or just their crazy,fun,mom and friend!!!!

I realise for me to be “me”, I need to let them be……..

And I am just reaching nirvana,wit this profound realisation,until….
